Procurement & Supplier Networks

Procurement and supplier-network software is anchored by ERP incumbents, led by SAP, and by adjacent managed-spend platforms. The confirmed material shows SAP moving into agentic AI and sovereign cloud, while platform-control disputes, sanctions exposure, geopolitical buying hesitancy and doubts about AI readiness weigh on the group. It contains no procurement-specific financial metrics, such as network volumes or spend under management, so the thesis rests on ecosystem position and constraint disclosures.

Active institutional funds cut a net $179.4 million in Q2 2026, versus $13.0 billion in Q1 2026 — an outflow 99% smaller. 58.3% of companies in this sub-theme saw decreased active positions in Q2 2026.

Overview

This sub-theme covers digital procurement, spend management and supplier-network platforms: software that governs how enterprises source, buy, contract with and monitor suppliers, and the networks that connect buyers and suppliers. Procurement is usually embedded in a broader enterprise stack. SAP, for example, is named by Vertex as a key technology partner with pre-built integrations spanning ERP, CRM, procurement, billing, POS and eCommerce platforms, and Workday is named in the same terms. The stack is contested among a small group of enterprise application vendors. SAP competes with Oracle, ServiceNow and Manhattan Associates, and Workday competes with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, ServiceNow and ADP. Delivery runs through a partner ecosystem; for instance, Infosys builds RISE with SAP and GROW with SAP offerings on SAP's S/4HANA and BTP platforms. Adjacent managed-spend models also sit inside the theme. Global Business Travel Group runs a corporate travel marketplace that aggregates content from suppliers such as Booking.com under an American Express brand licence. BILL Holdings integrates with American Express for supplier payment processes. Research providers such as Gartner shape how buyers evaluate technology. Large retailers such as Walmart are buyers and supplier counterparties that apply technology to supply chain planning. Traditional IT distributors, including Ingram Micro and ScanSource, and payments-only platforms fall outside the definition and are not used as evidence here.
