Freight, Fleet & Telematics
Freight, Fleet & Telematics spans asset-based carriers, LTL and parcel networks, telematics and transport-management software, and autonomous trucking developers. The verified material shows autonomous trucking pilots moving toward scale, carriers adding software and fleet technology, and regulatory capacity attrition that management expects to support freight rates. Tariffs, customer concentration, export controls, emissions rules and ELD certification are the main offsets. Verified recent activity for the pure-play telematics names is thin.
Active institutional exposure flipped from a net outflow of $983.5 million in Q1 2026 to a net inflow of $1.5 billion in Q2 2026. 56.7% of companies in this sub-theme saw increased active positions in Q2 2026.
Overview
This sub-theme covers the technology and operating layers that move freight and manage commercial fleets: fleet telemetry and electronic logging devices, routing and transport-management software, freight execution by truckload, LTL, parcel and intermodal carriers, and autonomous driving systems for trucks. Its participants fall into three groups. Carriers such as Schneider National, Werner Enterprises, Old Dominion, Saia, XPO, TFI International, FedEx, FedEx Freight and UPS execute freight and generate operating data. Software and device providers such as Samsara and Trimble supply telematics, ELD and TMS functionality, and Samsara depends on Amazon Web Services for hosting. Aurora Innovation supplies autonomous trucking technology to carriers, and PACCAR builds the trucks that carry it. Intermodal carriers such as Schneider also rely on contracts with Class I railroads including Union Pacific, Canadian Pacific Kansas City and CSX. In LTL, Old Dominion, Saia, XPO, TFI International and FedEx Freight are each identified as competitors. Regulated devices such as ELDs fall under FMCSA rules in the United States and certification regimes in Canada. Vehicle manufacturers and warehouse-only automation are outside the scope of the sub-theme.
